Royal Doors — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Answers about products, ordering, delivery, returns, installation & support.

Products

What products do you offer?

We offer high‑quality windows, front doors (steel, aluminium, uPVC, and wood), patio/terrace doors, and garage doors. Windows and garage doors are usually supplied by custom order, while many front and balcony doors are available to buy online.

Are any doors available for immediate delivery?

Yes — our in‑stock steel front doors are available with fast UK delivery (around 3 working days). In‑stock orders are typically dispatched within 1–3 working days, and Next Working Day may be available to mainland UK (subject to cut‑off, access and carrier capacity).

Tip: Look for “IN STOCK – Delivery 3 Days” badges on product/category pages.

What glazing options and thermal performance are available for windows?
  • Double glazing — heat transfer coefficient from Ug ≈ 1.0 W/m²K (depends on unit and size).
  • Triple glazing — down to Ug ≈ 0.4 W/m²K with warm‑edge spacers and inert gas fill.
  • Quadruple glazing — as low as Ug ≈ 0.3 W/m²K in specialist units.

Final window U‑value (Uw) depends on profile, glazing and dimensions; we’ll quote the exact value with your chosen configuration.

Do you supply uPVC entrance doors and panels?

Yes — modern and classic uPVC panel doors with insulated cores are available, including glazed variants. They feature reinforced frames and multi‑point locking as standard, with optional upgrades for security and energy performance.

What thermal grades and thicknesses are available for steel front doors?

Steel front doors are offered in multiple thermal grades with typical leaf thickness options around 55 mm, 72 mm, 85 mm and 101 mm (model‑dependent). Higher thickness generally means improved insulation and acoustic comfort.

What construction and security features do steel doors include?
  • Insulated door leaf with robust steel skins and thermal breaks (model‑dependent).
  • Multi‑point locking and reinforced hinges; optional upgraded cylinders and handles.
  • Comprehensive weather seals around the frame and leaf; low‑maintenance exterior finish.
What is the construction of sectional garage doors?

Sectional doors use PU‑insulated panels ~40 mm thick with interlocking joints and perimeter rubber seals for excellent thermal and weather performance. Matching side doors can be supplied to coordinate with your garage door.

What warranty applies to garage doors?
  • 10‑year warranty on door sections against rust‑through perforation and similar defects.
  • 5‑year warranty on wear parts (springs, cables, drums, rollers, hinges) under normal residential use.

Warranty terms depend on correct installation, maintenance and typical daily cycles.

Ordering

Is there a minimum order value online?

Yes. The online shop has a minimum order value of £799 inc. VAT.

Can I collect my order instead of delivery?

Collection from our depot is available by prior arrangement. If you collect, any delivery charge paid will be deducted.

Delivery

How does delivery work?
  • Kerbside delivery as standard (unless agreed otherwise in writing).
  • One‑person delivery — please ensure someone (18+) is onsite to help unload safely.
  • Proof of delivery (sign, print name and date) required on receipt.
  • No “safe‑place” deliveries (we don’t leave orders unattended — porch, bins, garage, neighbour; someone 18+ must be present to check and sign the POD).
Do you guarantee a delivery time slot?

Time slots aren’t guaranteed. Deliveries are usually Monday–Friday up to 6:00 pm. You’ll receive as much notice as possible, and the driver usually calls the day before — please ensure your contact number is correct and reachable. In exceptional cases, deliveries may take place on weekends or public holidays; we will notify you in advance if this applies.

What vehicles are used and what access is required?

Large orders may arrive on a large lorry (approx. 12.0 m L × 2.55 m W × 4.2 m H); smaller orders may use a long‑wheelbase van (e.g., LWB Sprinter). Please tell us in advance about narrow roads, low bridges/height limits, weight limits or restricted access.

What happens if no one is available or access is unsuitable?

If delivery is attempted after prior notice and no one is on site—or access is unsafe/unsuitable—redelivery fees (from £80) and additional charges may apply.

How long will delivery take?
  • In‑stock items: usually dispatched in 1–3 working days. Next Working Day may be available to mainland UK (charges apply).
  • Made‑to‑order items: typically 3–8 weeks from order confirmation (timings are approximate and may vary during seasonal shutdowns).

Returns & Damages

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

Yes, provided the item is unused/unassembled, in perfect condition, and in its original undamaged packaging. Securely pack the item for transit. Once received and checked, refunds are issued within 14 days.

Return shipping is at your cost and risk, and we cannot take responsibility for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Can I return custom (made‑to‑order) items?

Made-to-order (custom) items are not returnable or refundable once the specification is confirmed and signed off, because they are manufactured specifically for you.

  • Standard industry tolerances apply (approx. ±1.5 mm).
  • Changes after sign-off may incur additional costs and extended lead times.
  • If a bespoke item arrives damaged or faulty, we will replace it at no extra charge.
What if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?
  • Inspect on arrival and note any visible damage on the POD (proof of delivery).
  • Report any damage within 2 days of delivery and include 5 clear photos (item, packaging and labels) plus your order number.
  • Do not assemble or use the item until checked.
