Three ways to get a screen out of the way

Sliding leaves, pleated concertinas and spring roll-ups. Width, threshold height and whether the opening has a wall beside it decide which one fits.

The standard sliding screen: parallel rails top and bottom, screwed to the window frame. Made for lift-and-slide and tilt-and-slide patio doors, in one or two leaves.

Sliding Screen

A pleated screen: the mesh folds like a concertina into a slim side profile, so the open screen takes up almost no width. The threshold rail is low enough to walk over.
