Insect Screens
An insect screen is an aluminium frame with a fine mesh across it, made to your opening and fitted on the outside. The window stays open on a warm evening and nothing flies in. Twenty systems: lift-off frames for windows, hinged screens for doors, and sliding or pleated screens for patios up to six metres across.

What the frame and the mesh actually look like
extruded aluminium profiles, powder-coated in any colour from the RAL palette woodgrain finishes on selected systems — golden oak, walnut and mahogany made to the millimetre for your opening, not cut down from a stock size brush seals around the perimeter, so there is no gap left at the edge fitted from outside using clips, springs or brackets — on most windows nothing is drilled
The frame
standard: vinyl-coated fibreglass in black or grey, easy to wash and hard to tear anti-pollen: a denser weave for hay fever season anti-smog: a nanofibre membrane that stops most particles down to about one micrometre pet-resistant: a reinforced weave for cats and dogs that lean on things high transparency: a finer thread, so the view through the window is barely changed aluminium: the toughest option, for exposed ground-floor openings
The mesh
screens fit uPVC, aluminium and wooden windows, and flush, semi-flush and standard sashes most window frames lift off in seconds and store flat for the winter roll-up and pleated systems stay in place; only the mesh retracts into its box a screen on the outside does not stop a roller shutter above it — say which shutter you have and we will pick a system that clears it taking a screen down over the winter is worth the minute it takes: it is the one thing that damages them
